Rumored specs for the Microsoft “Pink” phone emerge
Robert Nelson | May 13, 2009Web podcasts to roll out with Zune.net update, Tuesday morning
wordpress | March 3, 2009A Zune.net update, available in the morning, will make audio podcasts available in streaming mode directly from Zune.net. This update makes Zune Marketplace’s audio podcasts - currently numbering 12,000 - available directly through browsers.
No client software is required, making this one of the web’s largest browser-based podcast libraries.
You can also choose to download podcasts or subscribe, which will open Zune Software for those functions.
Zune.net, Zune Marketplace, and Zune Social will be down tonight from 9pm. This is for several updates, as well as in support of a major move of all Zune servers to a new data center.
Microsoft Calling It Splits On the Zune
Jonas D | February 14, 2009Zune Photo Gallery: Yosemite
Harvey Chute | November 3, 2008Been traveling with your Zune this fall? Post your pix in our Zune Photo Gallery..!
I just returned from 3 days in Yosemite National Park. An amazing place that I will definitely return to when I have more hiking time. (I was there for a conference.)
Got some nice shots of the amazing granite walls of El Capitan, Half-Dome, Liberty Cap, and more. See my Zune shots here.
Music Madness, Round I
Jander | October 21, 2008Zunerama member ballbagcheese has quickly put together an intriguing little music battle for the community at large here to discover some new music. Patterned after the annual college basketball tourney during march, the idea is to submit your best songs, putting them against other Zunerama member’s best, and discovering which one comes out on top via a forum vote. Should pose for a fun way to discover some new tunes with a little competitive flavor. We’ll be sure to post the winners, songs and users that submitted them, as the music tourneys take place month to month.
See the current batch of songs up for competition and vote for your favorite in our forums here.
Also, Zunerama member Endless was kind enough to upload the .zpl (Zune playlist file) for a quick download. You’ll just need to download and place the file in your playlist folder, usually contained in your Zune folder. Zune Pass users should find it easy to download the songs from there. You can download the file here.
Thanks Endless and ballbagcheese for helping this get off the ground!
The baddest Zune color
Harvey Chute | October 20, 2008
Zune flash players are available in pink, red, blue, black, and green.
But whenever I see a Zune flash player in the wild, it is almost invariably black.
And store displays of flash players usually indicate that the black players are being depleted more quickly than the colored players. (I took the above pic while in the Virgin Megastore in Hollywood this past week.)
For all the color choices, black still seems to be the most craved Zune color.
New unboxing pics of Zune 120 Originals
Jander | October 15, 2008Zunerama member Sandfire just posted a nice little collection of unboxing photos after receiving his bran new Kenzo Minami styled Zune Originals 120gb. Take a look for yourself at the rest of the photos here.
Dissecting the Zune Pad
Harvey Chute | October 2, 2008In a fit of irrational behavior, my Zune MVPeep Grahm disassembled his Zune player’s touch pad to see what makes it tick.
In his excellent site anythingbutipod.com, Grahm has some shots of the Zune Pad’s innards.
Warning: don’t do this at home. It renders your Zune Pad inoperational..!

The Zune mosaic
Harvey Chute | September 15, 2008I could wax philosophical about the above graphic, but I’ll leave it to your artistic interpretation. Each tile is an image of earlier-generation players from our Zune gallery and our various unboxings.
Click on it to see if full-size. (Credit to AndreaMosaic for the graphics software - it’s fun!)
